Insecurity: FPU Urges FG To Unravel Killers Of US Based Nigerian
The Fugar Progressive Union (FPU), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to as a matter of necessity unravel the killers of its illustrious son, a US based Nigerian, Prince Dennis Abuda by suspected armed herdsmen.
Late Prince Abuda, who was the President of Fugar- American Foundation, an affiliate and partner of the FPU, was murdered last Saturday near Ahor village, along the Benin bypass, on his way to Lagos to catch a return flight back to the US after the Yuletide celebration in Fugar.
A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of FPU, Mr Solomon Obomighie, also urged the United States government to intervene in the case by supporting all efforts in Nigeria to bring the perpetrators to book.
While condemning the gruesome murder of Prince Abuda, the FPU equally challenged the Edo state government to continue working with relevant stakeholders with a view to protecting citizens of the state from incessant attacks by criminal elements.
The FPU described the Late Abuda as one of its finest that should not be allowed to die in vain.
The statement further said; “We therefore, call on the Edo State government and Etsako Central Local Government to use the death of Prince Abuda as an avenue to put an end to the security nightmare faced by residents and travellers across the state. We equally want his name to be immortalized”.
Prince Dennis Abuda, an insurance broker based in Atlanta, Georgia, was abducted along with three others, and later found dead in the Bush.
Already, five suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the heinous crime.
