I’ve No Plan Of Leaving PDP For Any Party – Gov. Ortom Declares

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has declared that he is not in any way contemplating leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for whatever reason.

Governor Ortom, who stated this while refuting claims that he is planning to dump the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that he strongly believes that the political, economic and security challenges currently facing the country cannot solved by people defecting from one political party to another.

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, said that the clarification became necessary owing to a recent statement credited to the Benue State Chairman of APC, Comrade Abba Yaro in which he insinuated that Governor Ortom will soon be returning to the party, stressing that there is no basis for such claims.

Akase said; “It is pertinent to state categorically that Governor Ortom is not contemplating leaving PDP for whatever reason.

“Ortom believes that the political, economic and security challenges currently facing the country cannot merely be solved by people decamping from one political party to another”.

Ortom was also quoted as saying that; “What is most important at this point is for Nigerians of all walks of life to join hands and surmount the challenges confronting the nation”.

The Governor reiterated that he is comfortably leading the PDP in Benue State to achieve development milestones for the people and therefore remains focused on the mandate of providing good governance to all parts of the state.
