Jealousy Over Widow’s Love Triggered Plans To Kill My Brother – Man Confesses
A 35-year-old medical recorder with the Maternity Clinic Kofar Ran in Bauchi town, Mustapha Tahiti has blamed jealousy for triggering the desire to kill his cousin’s brother and the wife.
Tahiti, who is currently cooling his feet in the Police cell confessed that he was full of resentment for the victim ignored his repeated warnings against marrying the widow.
According to the Bauchi State Police Command, Tahiti was arrested on 6th March 2024 following credible intelligence available to the State Intelligence Department (SID).
A statement by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, said that acting promptly, the operatives picked up the suspect while actively planning to execute his murderous plans of killing the couple.
The Police Spokesman said on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the alleged crime, explaining that he filled a syringe with an insecticide chemical he bought and planned to forcefully administer to the victims.
Wakil also said the suspect mentioned that his plan was to cart away their valuables after killing both his brother and the wife, adding that the syringe filled with insecticide chemicals has been recovered as an exhibit.
He further disclosed that discreet investigation by Police operatives indicated that the suspect had grudges with the victim for marrying his late elder brother’s wife, whom he loved dearly and wanted to marry, but unfortunately, the widow was not interested in his marriage proposal.
The suspect said further in his further confessional statement that he became terribly angry and jealous after several warnings issued to his cousin’s brother requesting he stays away from marrying widow fell on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, in commending the effort of the intelligence operatives and their swift proactive steps, the State Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, directed that the suspect be charged to court upon completion of the discreet investigation.
He assured all Bauchi State residents of his resolve and commitment to curtail crime and criminality through a distinct array of measures.
He said such proactive measures include the deployment of more intelligence tentacles across Bauchi state.
