Jos Killings: Nasarawa Govt, JNI, CAN Move To Avert Spill Over

BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – The leadership of Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) havs assured residents of Nasarawa State of peaceful coexistence among the people.

Addressing a joint press conference at the Deputy Governor’s conference room, Imam Mohammed Ali JNI State Secretary and Arch. Bishop Joseph Masin, said both religions condemn the recent killing of innocent Muslim travelers in Jos.

They called on the people to continue to leave peacefully without a crisis.

According to the religious leaders; “Both Islam and Christianity preach peace and therefore, all adherents of these two religions should continue to remain and live peacefully with each other in the state.

“The meeting condemned the incidence of the killings of innocent travelers that took place in Jos, Plateau state”

The two faiths also enjoined Nasarawa citizens to go about their normal duties without fear of molestation.

The religious leaders also commended the Nasarawa state government for evacuating students of the state who are studying in University of Jos.
