Confirmed reports said Odumakin, public analyst, activist and politician, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital early on Saturday morning, April3, 2021.
In response to a telephone call, his wife, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin said she was on her way to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos State

The late Odumakin has been off public glare in recent times, with news that he was receiving treatment for some undisclosed ailments. Sources close to Afenifere’s leadership said the late Spokesperson became critically ill during a recent visit to the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola and was promptly offered medical care by the State government.
However, unconfirmed sources hinted that the tough-taking Afenifere spokesman’s death may not be unconnected with his long battle against diabetes and reported COVID-19 complications.
