Kaduna: Abducted Germans Regain Freedom

The two abducted Germans, Professor Peter Breunij, and his research assistant, Johannes Buringer, who were abducted last Wednesday in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, have regained their freedom, according to a statement released by the Kaduna State Government.
The alleged kidnappers, according to a source had phoned to demand a ransom of N60 million as condition for releasing the archeologists. Security sources informed Forefront that no ransom was paid before the abducted Germans were released by their abductors.
The statement from Kaduna State Government quoted Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai as commending the security agencies for facilitating the release of the kidnapped Germans.
