Kaduna Governorship Election Results, Fraudulent, Sham – PDP
…Carpets INEC for lack of transparent conduct
The People Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna state chapter, on Tuesday announced its outright rejection of the results of the Saturday Governorship election for which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Uba Sani as the winner.
The PDP said the collation and announcement of the result by INEC was a complete fraud and total sham as it failed woefully to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.
The result of the governorship election declared by INEC showed that the APC polled a total votes cast of 730,002,while the PDP recorded 719,196, just as Labour Party garnered 58,283 while the NNPP scored 21,405 votes.
Interestingly, the total number of Registered Voters in the State was 4, 335,208 while the number of Accredited Voters was put at 1,481,662. However the total number of valid votes was 1,546,747 indicating an over voting of 65,085 just as rejected Votes was 19, 114 far more than the margin of victory which was 10,806 votes.
The PDP said that its rejection of the announced results of the election stem from the fact that INEC clearly displayed total lack of transparency by refusing to use the authentic results in its Server (IReV) to determine the winner of the election.
Chairman of the PDP in the State, Mr. Felix Hassan Hyet, who stated the position of the party at a press conference, said that the party anticipated that INEC was not ready to carry out due justice in declaring the authentic winner of the election.
In the words of Hyet; “Our fears were confirmed last night when the State Gubernatorial Returning Officer, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, used questionable results to declare Senator Uba Sani of the APC as elected with 730,002 votes against 719,196 votes allocated to our Candidate, Rt. Hon. Mohamed Isah Ashiru of the PDP.
“PDP rejects this result and the declaration of Uba Sani as winner of the Gubernatorial Elections of 18th March, 2023,” he said.
Hyet however assured residents of Kaduna State of the determination of the PDP to reclaim the stolen mandate, stressing that the party has already commenced all necessary actions in accordance to arrest what he described as “the broad day robbery” against the people of the state by the APC and its collaborators.
He thanked the people of the state for their unflinching support, and appealed for continuous prayers and support to enable the Party and candidate fight the cause to its logical conclusion.
