Kaduna: PDP Wins Jaba LGA Elections

The chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jabba Local Government Area in last Saturday’s Local Government elections in Kaduna State, Mr. Philip Gwada, has been declared as the winner of the poll.

Gwada was declared winner by the Kaduna State Independent National Electoral Commission (SIEC) appointed Returning Officer, Prof. Peter Omale on Monday at the SIEC office in Kwoi, headquarters of Jaba Local Government Area.

Prof. Omale said Gwada polled 9,012 votes to defeat his APC opponent, Mr Benjamin Jock, who recorded 5,640 votes.

Omale further said that the candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Mr Alhamdu Gyet, came third having scored 2,732 votes.

While declaring the winner of the election, the Returning Officer said; “Mr Phillip Gwada of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner of the election and returned elected’.
