Kogi: APC NWC May Review Indirect Governorship Primaries

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), assured that it will look at the merit of the petitions it received from Stakeholders in Kogi State over the indirect Primaries.

The APC NWC which stated this while reacting to the receipt of petitions from stakeholders said that diligent steps would be taken in line with the Party’s constitution to enable it come out with a position in due course.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of te Party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu confirmed that the National Working Committee received petitions from some stakeholders in Kogi State in reaction to Indirect Primaries earlier adopted for the election of the Party’s candidate for the forthcoming Governorship election in the state.

The NWC of the APC thanked the aggrieved Party stakeholders in Kogi State for the peaceful manner in which they have so far conducted themselves and their trust in the NWC to do the right thing.

Issa-Onilu said; “It needs restating that the APC Constitution which was reemphasized by a decision of National Executive Committee (NEC) provides for three modes of primaries to elect Party candidates – Indirect, Direct Primaries and consensus – depending on the peculiarities of the state and preferences of the stakeholders in respective elections.”

The party’s national leadership assured all concerned parties that it would be guided only by its rules.
