Lagos (Abule Ado) Explosions: NNPC Shuts Down Oil Pipelines In The Area
SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – Following multiple explosions that led to heavy fire outbreak at Abule Ado area of Lagos State on Sunday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has shut down oil pipelines around the affected community.
The ugly incident which led to the destruction of several houses witnessed how some of the residents tried to safe and remove personal movable items from some of the affected buildings.
Checks by Forefront News indicate that the explosion that started with a heavy noise like a bomb was caused by some combustible items inside a factory within the area.
Officials of the Federal Fire Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency were still at the site of the explosion working hard to put out the fire that is already spreading to buildings in the community.
An eye witness, described the unfortunate incident as “very critical, devastating and dangerous” particularly against the backdrop of the fact that there is a female boarding school in the affected area in addition to the blocks of flats and other residential buildings in the area.
