The management of the Lagos State Assembly had invited the DSS to help ensure security in the premises of the Assembly when it gathered that the sacked former Speaker, Hon Mudashiru Obasa was to resume on Tuesday to take over as Speaker.
Forefront News gathered from security sources close that lawmakers had mobilized supporters to the Assembly complex and reportedly attacked some DSS officers who were invited by the Assembly management to secure the facility.
A dependable DSS source confided in Forefront News that operatives of the Service subjected the CCTV footage to a critical and extensive analysis which resulted in the identification of three key suspects that played major roles in attacking the officials of the secret police.
The source said; “The three suspects were traced, tracked and arrested during the week in different parts of Lagos”.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State House of Assembly had in a leaked memo dated 14th February, 2025 and addressed to the DSS Director in the State, and Heads of other Security Agencies in Lagos State, told the Security Agencies in Lagos that, there was credible information to the effect that the former speaker, Mudashiru Obasa had planned to forcefully reinstate himself on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Consequent upon the information, the management of the Lagos Assembly held the view that the development posed “a potential security threat” to it and its members which necessitated it to invite the DSS and other security agencies.
