Mahmoud Defends Ease of Doing Business In Nigeria As Attractive

BY EVELYN DADU, ABUJA – The Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has described as unwavering the Federal Government’s commitment to creating an enabling and attractive environment for “Ease of Doing Business” in Nigeria

She said this is because the country currently stands at the threshold of unprecedented investment opportunities which the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is resolutely willing to explore and harness for Nigeria’s socio-economic growth and development.

The Minister, who spoke at the 6th edition of Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit with the theme: “New Vistas, New Aspirations, New Visions: The Diaspora and National Development”, said; “Nigeria, with its rich cultural diversity and vast economic potential, is ripe for strategic investments” that would be beneficial on all fronts.

Represented at the occasion by the Director of Economic Planning, Research & Statistics, Mrs. Joy Uzodinma, the Minister stated that the summit clearly testifies to the importance the government is placing on harnessing the skills, resources, and expertise of the global Nigerian community.

She further said in recognizing the vital role the diaspora community plays in this endeavor, the current administration is committed to ensuring a more transparent and investor-friendly climate, adding; “I, therefore, encourage you, the diaspora, to be active participants in this transformative journey.”

“Your skills and experiences gained abroad are invaluable assets that can contribute significantly to the growth and development of various sectors in Nigeria, from technology and healthcare to agriculture and renewable energy. The time is now for us to join forces and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria together,” the Minister said.

According to her, despite the existing and emerging challenges, the government is committed to addressing them collaboratively, adding; “Your insights and feedback are crucial in shaping policies that will facilitate a seamless integration of diaspora investments into our national development in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present government.
