The Department of State Services (DSS), on Tuesday told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that Tukur Mamu, who styled himself as the chief negotiator with terrorists for the release victims the attack on an Abuja-Kaduna bound train in March was part of an international terrorists network who used the cover of journalism to perpetrate his deeds.
The DSS particularly alleged that Mamu, who claimed to be going to Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj was on his way to an international terrorists summit when he was intercepted and arrested in Egypt before deportation to Nigeria.
These were contained in an affidavit in support of its ex-parte motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1617/2022 filed before Justice Nkeonye Maha of a Federal High Court, Abuja.
The Secret Police equally alleged that the investigation so far carried out on Mamu, the terrorists’ negotiator, clearly established Acts of terrorism financing.
Following the case filed by the DSS, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Nkeonye Maha, in a ruling upon an ex-parte motion moved by counsel to the DSS, Mr. Ahmed Magaji, granted the motion for a detention order for 60days against Mamu.
The DSS had prayed the court to grant its reliefs to enable it conclude its investigation on Mamu, who had been leading the negotiation with terrorists for the release of the passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna bound that were abducted in March.
