Man Allegedly Kills Brother In Delta State For Wife’s Missing N2,000

Following his wife’s alleged missing N2,000, a middle age man, identified as Paul, has allegedly murdered his younger brother, Mr Saturday.

The unfortunate incident took place in Ugbokodo-Okpe community in Okpe local government area of Delta State.

On the fateful day, Paul had gone out of their residence when his wife accused his younger brother, Saturday, of stealing her N2000, but Saturday, who lived with his elder brother and denied responsibility for the alleged missing money.
However, Paul’s wife refused to believe Saturday part of the story which made her to continue pressing charges of stealing against Saturday, who found the action of his brother’s wife distasteful.

Accordingly, in the course of the accusation and denial, the woman reportedly seized and impounded a shirt belonging to Saturday, who found the action of his brother’s wife unacceptable and reportedly slapped her.

Furious at Saturday’s attack, Mrs Paul quickly reached out to her husband and reported that Saturday slapped her among other things. Expectedly, her husband quickly rushed home in rage at his brother, Saturday.

It was gathered that as soon as the angry husband got home, he beckoned on one of his sons who accompanied him in search of Saturday.

On getting to the Waterside part of the community where Saturday had gone to, Paul without further much ado, pounced on his brother – Saturday, and with the help of his son, Paul, popularly known as Papa Jeffrey, descended on his younger brother and in the process, stabbed him multiple times which led Saturday to collapsed and died.

It was gathered that as the news of the death of Saturday spread, youths of the community quickly gathered and descended Paul for the murder of his brother, Saturday, but was quickly rescued by security agents.

The angry youths did not stop at that, as they moved to the residence of Paul and set it ablaze and also burnt down the provision store of his wife.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State command, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects have been arrested and assisting the police in carrying out investigation.
