Man Leaves Brother In Coma Over New Naira Notes
For daring to spend the 5,000 new Naira notes left in his custody for safe keeping, a young man, Philip Ihenacho, has been beaten to a state of coma by an elder brother.
Reports said ugly incident occurred on Saturday when the angry man, Tochukwu Ihenacho, who is in his mid-30s, pounced on his younger brother, Philip and left him battling for dear life because of spending the new notes given to him to keep.
It was gathered that residents of the Pipeline Area of Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where the incident took place, were left in utter shock at the turn of events.
According to an eyewitness account; “Last Tuesday, Tochukuwu gave Philip his younger brother N5,000 new notes to keep for him. They live together. And of course, everyone knows how difficult it is to get the new notes or even the old ones now from the banks and POS Operators.
“So, on Saturday when Tochukuwu requested for the money, he was shocked after being told by the younger brother that the money has been spent.
“He immediately flew into a fit of rage, beating his younger one to a state of unconsciousness. It was only the timely intervention of their Neighbours that rescued the young man and he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.”
However, our source said the cheering news is that the victim eventually recovered and has been recuperating at the home with the elder brother now remorseful over the incident which nearly proved fatal to their family.
