The Premier League is entering a new tactical war next season, and no doubt every Manager/Coach on board will be bringing his own football religion and philosophy to the party.
At Chelsea, Xabi Alonso represents silent assassin football. Calm on the touchline, but deadly in structure as we saw with his former listening players at Bayer Leverkusen and the performance unlike pompousness of Real Madrid players towards him. Chelsea fans are about to witness what controlled domination truly looks like. No more chaos-ball, just positional superiority, midfield suffocation, and calculated destruction. If the young players avoid sentiment and fully commit to tactical discipline, Chelsea could become terrifying again.
At Manchester City, Enzo Maresca is stepping into football’s hardest inheritance. A fully established team like what Arne Slot inherited from Klopp to win the league. Everything Pep left will remain. The real challenge is not tactics, it is surviving the pressure of replacing Pep Guardiola at a club where winning is treated like breathing. If he handles that pressure, Maresca may not just continue Pep’s City… he could evolve it.
At Manchester United, Michael Carrick came in late but was able to beat all the big teams and brought the club to the top 4. He nearly overtook City in the second position on the table. The team trust him and the players were playing for him which they could be a threat for the title next season. His United could become a side that dominates games quietly. The danger with Carrick is that he could be supported by the PGMOL and pundits to win matches for the title.
Unai Emery at Aston Villa is building something darker than people realize. This is no longer about overachieving or sneaking into Europe. Emery has created a team that studies opponents like exams and punishes every weakness with precision. Villa now play with the mentality of a club that expects to compete, not participate. The frightening part is that Emery does not need superstar names to hurt elite teams. He only needs organization, discipline, and one tactical mistake from you. That is why Aston Villa are becoming a genuine threat instead of a temporary story. As they are champions in Europe they will challenge for the Premier league title next season.
Then comes Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham is going to be one of the dangerous to compete. He is well known to the Premier league and one of the tactical and aggressive manager. He came in late for Tottenham but was able to rescue them from relegation and now he’s going to apply for his own philosophy and change the face of the team to his expectation and build his team through as well as proving to compete for top 4. He’s not going to be just a walkover.
At Liverpool, Andoni Iraola could unleash heavy-metal football with absolutely no breathing space. Pressing, transitions, intensity, aggression constant chaos. Though Arne Slot inherited well established project but he has left a messed team for Andoni. But let not forget Iraora with Bournemouth beat all the top 4 teams in the Premier league. A silent dangerous manager. Opponents may genuinely need oxygen masks after 90 minutes. Liverpool could become the most physically demanding side in Europe again. He is a must coach to watch.
And then there is Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta the Champions League wounded lion. While others are rebuilding identities, changing philosophies, and starting new projects, the Gunners already possess stability, chemistry, tactical cohesion, and the pain of falling short in the European final. That combination is dangerous. Arteta has already built the structure, mentality, and elite standards required not to compete but absolutely win in rows until he leaves.
The Premier League is no longer simply players versus players. It is philosophies versus philosophies. Control versus chaos. Possession versus aggression. Structure versus freedom. And football fans are about to witness one of the most tactically fascinating Premier League seasons in years. But in all… it’s going to be Arteta’s Premier League [APL].
