Military Arrest ‘Police’ With Large Quantity Of Ammunition, Grenade in Borno

The troops of Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian military have arrested one Ebenezer Ojeh with ammunition and a grenade at a checkpoint in Borno state.

Ojeh, who claimed to be a serving police sergeant attached to the Police Unit of Special Weapon Tactical Team (SWAT) of the Mobile Police Force 19-unit, River State was intercepted by the troops of 154 Task Force Battalion Ngamdu led by its Acting Commander, Major D.Y Chiwar along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road.

It was gathered that Ojeh’s behavior was suspicious after he had boarded a Borno Express commercial vehicle going to Abuja.

During a search of his bags by the military personnel at the checkpoint, it was discovered that it contained 220 special 7.62mm ammunition, one hand grenade, a dagger and other deadly items.

It was also gathered that the military after interrogation is not too convinced that Ojeh, whose uniform and tags in his possession bear Sergent Ebenezer Ojeh with identification number 456647 is actually a serving police personnel as it yet to confirm his true identity and mission from Rivers to Borno State with the quantity of ammunition and a hand grenade found on him which is considered abnormal in security circle.
