Military Bombards Locations Of Top Boko Haram Commanders
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The Nigerian military on Monday said that based on received information about the location of some suspected top leaders of Boko Haram terrorists’, the Nigerian Army and the Air Force flagged-off heavy artillery bombardments and air interdictions on registered targets.
It said the bombardments led to the killing of a large number of Boko Haram terrorists, including some of the group’s key leaders.
A statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman said the Nigerian Army artillery, using Multi-Barrel Rocket Launchers, lobbed many rockets over the suspected locations where these leaders were hiding.
He further said video clips obtained on battle damage assessment shows clear success of the exercise, adding that more details of successes achieved will be made available as the operation continues.
Brigadier Usman said the key Boko Haram’s leaders neutralized within the week during the joint Artillery and Nigerian Air Force air bombardments include; Abu Dujana, Man Tahiru (Deputy to Boko Haram terrorists group Hisba leader), Man Chari, Malam Abdullahi (left) Abu Sa’ad (Right) and Goni Bamanga.
Usman assured that the Nigerian military would continue with the concerted onslaughts on the reported Boko Haram terrorists’ location until they are totally eliminated.
