Following the scarcity of Naira which has brought untold hardship on the citizens, the national leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has directed workers nationwide to picket all the offices of the Central Bank of Nigeria with effect from next week.
This followed the expiration of the 7-Day ultimatum given by the NLC to the Governor of the CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele to either make the Naira available to reduce the avoidable cash crunch in the country of be prepared to face the wrath of Nigerian workers.

President of the NLC, comrade Joe Ajaero, who announced the resolve of the labour movement on Wednesday at a press conference in Abuja, stressed that the directive became imperative following the expiration of one-week ultimatum given to the CBN to make cash available for Nigerians.
The NLC President had given the CBN and commercial banks a one-week ultimatum to make naira notes available to workers and Nigerians to reduce their sufferings.
The NLC said that in this wise, it would direct workers to stay at home pending when the CBN is prepared and ready to make the naira notes available to Nigerians.
Ajaero noted that the policy of the CBN to withdraw money from circulation lacks economic sense as it is crippling the economy of the country.
