New Venue For Nigeria Vs Algeria Friendly
Eagles tackle Tunisia Tuesday, October 13
There is official confirmation that the venue for today’s (Friday, October 9, 2020) international friendly between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and their Algerian counterparts, Dessert Foxes, has been changed.
Initially slated for the Jacques Lemmans Arena, the encounter will now take place inside the Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria.
Confirming the news in a picture posted on its official Twitter handle @NGSuperEagles, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday did not explained reasons behind the latest development.
The Worthersee stadium has a 30,000 capacity, compared to the initial venue in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia which only accommodates 2,420 spectators.
At as press time, the NFF was yet to officially give reasons for the change in match venue which is coming less than 24 hours to the high profile encounter between the Eagles and the Foxes who are the current AFCON Champions.
Preparations for the match have been in top gear with both the Nigerians and their North African opponents, who are also nicknamed Dessert Warriors, having arrived in Austria and holding series of workout and training seasons.
So far, the official kick-off time for the match between these two long-time rivals remains 7.30pm (Nigerian time).
Meanwhile, agency reports however hinted that the Nigerian National soccer team will on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 return to the Jacques Lemmans Arena to face Africa’s second-ranked team, Tunisia.

The match with the Tunisian Carthage Eagles will also take place at 7.30pm (Nigerian time).
