Nigeria Academics Celebrate Kenya Kelele At Death

BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – Members of the academic community in Nigeria have continued to pay glowing tributes to an accomplished Kenyan mother and pillar of the Muganda family, Madam Priscilla Ondeso Muganda, who passed on in a Kenyan hospital recently.

In one of the tributes, Dr Major Adeyi of the Department of Political Science, University of Jos, said the late Madam Priscilla Ondeso Muganda was “a woman of noble character, an accomplished business woman, who touched many lives with her entrepreneurial skills and hospitality”.

Adeyi further described the decreased as “a focused and disciplined woman who was a model of hard work, who let indelible records in the meat industry business in Kenya especially”, where her Prime Cut out fit was reputed for standards and best practices.

The academic community also recalls that the deceased was forthright and disciplined, saying her “no-nonsense attitude, embellished with excellent business acumen” actually earned her the curdling and affectionate name, Mama Kelele from her admirers.

Backgrounding Nada Priscilla’s pedigree as a business woman and family administrator, Adeyi recalled that Mama Ondeso inherited the meat supplies business from her husband, Dickson Muganda, and nurtured it to heights of industry repute, as she expanded the business to supplying secondary schools, and divesting into the fast food business, with the SNACK STOP brand in Kakamega County area of Kenya.

Madam Priscilla was also revered as “the cornerstone of the Uganda family who ensured that no one suffered want, and all kin attended school, college, and university successfully”.

She is said to have live a glitzy life, always with food and drinks in abundance.

Her step daughter, Dr Beatrice Muganda, is PASGR director of higher education, and chief mourner and chief host of sympathizers from across Kenyan borders.
