BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The Nigerian Army on Friday announced a major redeployment of its senior officers in Command, Staff and other positions.
The posting affected Principal Staff Officers both at the Defence and Army Headquarters as well as General Officers Commanding (GOCs).
The Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Force Commander Multinational Joint Task Force are also affected by the posting aimed at injecting new hands to further actualize the vision of the Chief of Army Staff COAS), Lt-General Tukur Yusufu Buratai.
Those redeployed include Major Gen AM Dikko, who is to take over as Theatre Commander of Operation LAFIYA DOLE while Brig-General AO Abdullahi is now Acting Commander Sector 2 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE and Brig Gen UU Bassey as Acting Commander Sector 3 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
Others are, Major General CO Ude who is to take over as Force Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force Ndjamena, just as Major General J Sarham would take-over as General Officer Commanding 6 Division while Major General EB Kabuk is expected to assume office as the General Officer Commanding 82 Division with Major General MS Yusuf General appointed as the Officer Commanding, 81 Division just as Major General BA Akinroluyo takes over as General Officer Commanding 3 Division.
Other Principal Staff Officers affected are Major General LEO Irabor posted as Chief of Defence Training and Operations in the Defence Headquarters while Major General LO Adeosun takes over as Chief of Training and Operations at the Army Headquarters.
The list include Major General HO Otiki, as Commander Infantry Corps with Major General CU Agulanna as Chief of Accounts and Budget, Nigerian Army while Major General JE Jakko is posted to Defence Headquarters as Chief of Defence, Finance and Budget.
In a related development, Major General AB Abubakar, Maj Gen A Mohammed and Major General LKJ Ogunewe, among others who will be proceeding to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre on Course.
A statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu said all postings and appointments take effect from August 1, 2018.
