Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to address the nation soon on details of his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Tuesday night.

The address, expected to calm frayed nerves and assuage mounting anxiety among Nigerians, may come up after today’s (Wednesday) Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, who dropped the hints on his twitter handle late Tuesday night, described the meeting between the Acting President and holidaying President Buhari as “a very good meeting.”

“We will soon share more information about Acting President’s London meeting with President Buhari. It was a very good meeting. God bless Nigeria”, he said

Acting President Osinbajo hurriedly left Abuja on Tuesday night to confer with President Buhari in London, where he is presently convalescing from an undisclosed illness.

The trip took place after the Quarterly Presidential Business Forum which Professor Osinbajo chaired at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja on Tuesday morning. According to agency reports, the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo’s meeting with President Buhari lasted for about an hour with Osinbajo swiftly returning home from London.

The report said Osinbajo arrived in the night at the Abuja House, where Buhari has been recuperating since May 8, 2017 when he arrived from Nigeria for his follow-up medicals.

It further stated that Acting President did not comment on the outcome of his meeting with President Buhari before immediately jetting back home from London. Akande had posted earlier on Tuesday that “Osinbajo meeting with President Buhari in London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards.”

President Buhari, 74, left the country on the night of May 7, 2017 after receiving a group of 82 Chibok schoolgirls released by the Boko Haram terrorists.

This is President Buhari’s second medical trip to London this year; the first began in January that lasted nearly two months.
