Nigeria’s Future Very Bright – Osinbajo

BY COBHAM NSA, ABUJA – Ahead of the May 29 inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigerians must despair because the future looks bright for the country.

He despite the current challenging times in the country, Nigerians should remain hopeful and positive that better days are ahead.

The Vice President’s message of hope came during the inter-denominational Church Service at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja on Sunday as part of activities marking the May 29, 2019 Presidential Inauguration ceremony.

Professor Osinbajo said Christians must take the lead in giving hope to others, saying “Our days will be better and better. This is the reason I am so confident; our ministry is that of reconciliation.

“We must not permit anyone to take advantage of the fault lines. Our country stands at the threshold of phenomenal greatness, the end of the story light and joy.”

According to him; “We begin with darkness and confusion but the end of our story is bright, the future of our nation is bright.”

He counseled Christians to always live above board wherever they find themselves, noting that a Christ-like life is one that loves all irrespective of religion, ethnic or any other mundane considerations  

Also speaking at the occasion, Former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon urged Nigerians to ensure their love for the country continues to grow while defending it in whatever way possible.

The first scripture reading was taken by Justice John Isoho from Habakkuk 3:16-19 while the second scripture reading was taken by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu from the book of Revelations 4:1-11.

Intercessory prayers were also said for the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Osinbajo, government functionaries, the legislature, the judiciary and the unity of the Church.

The occasion also featured special renditions by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Mass Choir, the Nigerian Tenors, and NCCN Mass Choir.

Among dignitaries at the service were wife of the Vice President, Dolapo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Service Chiefs among others
