- As Appeal Court fails to convene
- To fix new hearing date

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – The appeal filed by National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole challenging his alleged suspension ordered by an FCT High Court suffered a fresh set back on Friday, March 20, 2020.
This is due to the inability of Court of Appeal in Abuja to sit on the case as earlier scheduled.
Comrade Oshiomhole’s appeal is against the March 4, 2020 interlocutory ruling by Justice Danlami Senchi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Jabi, suspending him from office as the APC National Chairman.
However, moving to quash the lower court’s ruling, the Court of Appeal in Abuja on March 10, 2020 entertained an ex-parte motion argued on Oshiomhole’s behalf by counsel Wole Olanipekun (SAN), and ordered a stay of the execution of the ruling by Justice Senchi, pending its determination of the APC Chairman’s appeal.
But when all the interested parties arrived at the court on Friday morning being the adjourned date for further hearing on the matter by the appellate court, an official informed all counsels in the case that the Appeal Court will no longer sit on the appeal as earlier scheduled.
Though no reason was given for the new development, the official stated that a new hearing date will be communicated to parties by the Court shortly. – With agency reports
