Nomination Fees: PDP Fixes N3m For National Chairmanship, N2m For Deputy
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed N3 million as nomination fees for aspirants to the chairmanship position of the Party in the forthcoming National Convention holding on December 9 and 10. 2017.
A statement signed by the Party’s National Publicity, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said those aspiring to contest for Deputy National Chairman and National Secretary will pay the sum of N2 million each for nomination. Contestants to other national offices are to cough out N1.5 million, while Deputy National Officers and ex-officio members will pay N500, 000 only.

The 76th National Executive Committee (NEC), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held today, Tuesday October 24, 2017 at the National Secretariat of our great party, the PDP.
The NEC was well attended having the National Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, CON, presiding and other members of the National Caretaker Committee in attendance. NEC also had the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Governors of Ekiti State and Chairman of PDP Governors Forum, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Ebonyi State, Engr. Austin Umahi, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Emmanuel Udom, Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah.
Also in attendance is the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jubril and other members of BoT who are members of NEC. Members of the National Assembly among which is the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio and others.
NEC discussed extensively on several issues affecting the Nation Nigeria and PDP in particular and arrived at the following Resolutions.
1. The 76th NEC received and approved memo on waiver granted to decampees in Oyo and Anambra States, especially to returnees and new entrant into the Party.
2. NEC deliberated on the date for the forthcoming National Convention to elect officers into the various offices at the National level and approved December 9 – 10, 2017 for the National Convention.
3. NEC discussed extensively on the guidelines for the 2017 Elective National Convention that will remain a working documents for the conduct of the Congresses at the Wards, LGAs, States, Zones and National Convention and it was approved as presented.
4. NEC also considered and approved fees for the purchase of Nomination forms for all positions at various levels.

In conclusion, the NEC discussed and approved some relevant sections of the Party Constitution in order to meet up with current realities and the approved sections of the Constitution is subject to approval by the National Convention.
