NSCDC Arrests 2 Suspected Female Suicide Bombers
BY MELVIN UCHE, MAIDUGURI – The men of Borno State command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday arrested two suspected female Boko Haram terrorists at the Borno Express Terminus in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Parading the suspects before newsmen in Maiduguri, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, said his men carried out the arrest after a tip off.
According to him , the two teenage girls, aged 14 and 15 confessed to have been abandoned by a terrorist, named Tahir, who brought them for a mission in the state capital during the Easter period before their mission failed.
One of them, Amina Salisu, aged 14, who is already Infected with HIV, said the fleeing Boko Haram terrorist brought her and the other accomplice and made moves to locate his contact in Maiduguri, but when he could not locate his contact, abandoned them at the park .
“I have lived with the terrorists with two different husbands while in Sambisa. I was abducted by the terrorists after an attack in Gulak in Adamawa state. The Boko Haram terrorist, who brought us here, abadoned us when he could not locate his contact here in Maiduguri on arrival”, she said
On the other hand, the second suspect, Fatima Kabir, 15 years said she had married three different terrorists within her two years in captivity.
“My first marriage, which lasted for 11 months, was with the factional leader of Boko Haram, Mamman Nur while my second marriage with another terrorist lasted for nine months before my third marriage to another terrorist that lasted for three months,” said Fatima Kabir.
The NSCDC Commandant, however, said his Command is trailing those that brought the girls to the city, adding that after investigation, the Command will hand them over to the appropriate authority.
