  • Compliance with sit-at-home order still on

Despite the resolutions by the South-East Governors and eventual suspension of the sit-at-home directive by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), the Anambra town of Nsukka and its environs are still groaning under the weight of the public order.

Situation reports from the town and surrounding areas indicate that business houses, markets, commercial banks, and petrol stations were all shut even as there were fewer human and vehicular movements on the road.

According to the reports, also affected are academic, social, and other commercial activities that remain paralyzed in the six local government areas of the Nsukka cultural zone

Ghost Mondays have now become a common feature in the city with some commercial banks and other private businesses re-adjusting their working days to Saturday to make up for lost hours of complying with the Mondays’ sit-at-home order by IPoB. – With Vanguard report
