BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has described Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State as a major stabilizing voice in the polity and a firm believer in the Nigerian project.
Odigie-Oyegun, who stated this in a congratulatory letter to the Imo State Governor on the occasion of his 55th birthday, also said the achievement of Okorocha in public and private life is inspiring and worth celebrating.
He also said that Governor Okorocha’s selfless and dedication to duty has unarguably resulted in his rapid political ascendency, establishing himself as a successful businessman, philanthropist and firm believer in the Nigerian project.
Odighie-Oyegun further said; “I recall fondly how you boldly led your team in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to join in forming the APC in 2013. You were thereafter elected by your colleague governors as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF). “Commendably, the PGF under your watch has immensely complemented efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to deliver on election promises to Nigerians. The forum has also served as an important vehicle in actualising the Party’s manifesto, particularly in the states.
“As an education philanthropist, the Rochas Foundation which you established in 1998 has provided free and quality education to the poorest of the poor in our society.
“Through your progressive disposition and national-inclined politics, you have managed to forge friendships across religious, political and ethnic lines. You have become a major stabilizing voice in the polity.
“Once more, congratulations on your 55th birthday. I pray the Almighty God continue to grant you good health, and successes in all your endeavours.”
