BY GRACE ANYANWU, ABUJA – The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has described the judgment of the Code of Conduct Tribunal against the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen as ridiculous and completely smeared the anti-corruption fight of the Federal Government.
President of the Council, Archbishop Tunde Adeleye, who stated this while chatting with journalists in Calabar, noted that the judgment will make Nigerians loose confidence in the judiciary and the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government fight against Corruption.
Similarly, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), while calling on President Buhari to review his mode of fighting corruption, described Onnoghen’s issue as a clear example of his government moves against Christians and Niger Delta people.
Spokesperson of PFN, Bishop Emmah Isong noted that the Christian Community, particularly those in the Niger Delta are crying foul over his mode of fighting corruption.
The two Christian Organisations pointedly said the Buhari’s administration is selective in its fight against corruption and challenged him to purged members of his cabinet accused of corruption and bring them to book.
