A precision air strike by troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has eliminated 15 terrorists in Borno State, delivering a crushing blow to insurgents under the cover of darkness.
The high-stakes operation took place just before midnight on October 23, 2026, northwest of Pulka in the Gwoza Local Government Area. Acting on razor-sharp, credible intelligence and confirmed night-time sightings of insurgent movements, the military launched a calculated aerial assault that completely neutralized the target.
Immediately following the blast, aggressive ground troops swept into the impact zone to exploit the location, secure the battlefield, and cement the gains of the operation. This lethal combination of aerial dominance and swift ground tactics marks the latest victory in the military’s relentless, intelligence-driven campaign to purge the North-East of terrorism.
An official statement signed by Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, said the operation formed part of sustained military efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and degrade their operational capabilities across the theatre.
The statement said the successful engagement demonstrated the effectiveness of intelligence-driven targeting and coordinated military action in restricting the movement of terrorist elements and denying them freedom of action.
It added that troops, supported by intelligence gathering and the coordinated deployment of military capabilities, would continue to maintain pressure on insurgents and strengthen the security environment across the North-East.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to defeating terrorism and insurgency, protecting law-abiding citizens and creating conditions for the restoration of normalcy and socio-economic activities in affected communities.
The Theatre Command also urged members of the public to sustain cooperation with security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities.
It stressed that continued collaboration between the military and civilian population remained critical to consolidating operational gains and achieving lasting peace and security across the North-East.
