Oshiomhole Wins Edo North Senate Seat

BY VICTOR BUORO – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared former Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s National Assembly election for Edo North Senatorial district in the State.

INEC Returning Officer, Professor Benjamin Adesina, who declared the results on Sunday in Auchi, said Oshiomhole won the contest by polling a total of 107,110 votes.

Adesina said the former APC National Chairman defeated the incumbent Senator, Francis Alimekhena of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who amassed 55,344 votes.

According to the Returning officer; “Adams Oshiomhole of APC having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared as the winner of the election conducted on the 25th of February for Edo North Senatorial District”.
