Peter Obi Leads Atiku, Tinubu In Plateau
BY OUR CORRESPONDENT – As predicted by many political commentators, the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, is making a strong showing in Plateau State by leading Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with about 45,297 votes in the results of seven local governments areas so far.
In the results declared at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Plateau State on Sunday, Obi amassed a total of 135,562 votes to Atiku’s 90,265 votes while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives (APC) is trailing them with 80,575 votes.
The INEC Returning Officer, Professor Shehu Abdulrahaman of the Federal University, Lafia, adjourned the collation before midnight on Sunday and announced that the exercise will resume at 8 am on Monday, February 27, 2023
Plateau has a total of 17 Local Government Areas and with results from seven so far announced, there are 10 more LGAs left to be declared.
