Osun 2022: Prepare To Quit – Dancing Senator Adeleke Dares Gov Oyetola
- PDP condemns attack on its Secretariat

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2018 Osun State governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke has boasted that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s time as the State Chief Executive is now limited.
Consequently, the man popularly called the ‘Dancing Senator’ says the governor should start working on his handover notes preparatory to quitting the Government House in Oshogbo, the State capital.
Speaking at a welcome rally organised by PDP at its Secretariat in Osogbo, Senator Adeleke hinted that plans are underway to flag off his campaign without disturbing other parties with interest to seek the PDP gubernatorial ticket in the state come 2022.
Senator Adeleke, who challenged all contestants to undertake modest campaigns in the interest of peace within PDP and the state generally, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of messing up governance in the state since taking over the reins of power.
“The ruling party has messed up the state since coming to power. I am appealing to the Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola to start preparing his handover notes because his days as Governor are numbered. I am back and ready to kick start my campaign.”
On his quest for the gubernatorial ticket, Adeleke said; “PDP belongs to everyone. I can’t stop anyone interested in the party’s ticket from contesting, but l appeal for decency among everyone for peace within the party and the state.”
In his remarks, the State PDP Chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, commended the former lawmaker for his courage in pursuit of more knowledge after being robbed of victory in 2018, describing the steps he took as “courageous and worthy of emulation”.
Mr Bisi, who urged PDP members not to fret over violence from political opponents, said no party has the monopoly of violence, stressing that; “With the additional feat to previous ones in the social, economic, and political spheres, you have assured us that you are better positioned to drive the process of growth in our dear State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The opposition party chief further said; “Let me use this medium to warm those who feel they can subdue our party with the force of violence to desist forthwith. Such vain effort cannot get at us as our courage is too fortified to be discouraged.
“Testing the will of our people through any form of violence is an effort in futility but stretching it further will backfire. We will not warn you again.”
