BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – Ahead of the Saturday, July 16 governorship election in Osun State, an aide to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola says his principal will coast home to a landslide victory given the All Progressives Congress (APC) encouraging performance rating in the last four years.
The victory prediction is coming from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Civic Engagement Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, during an interactive session with members of Nigerian Incorporated Electronic Practitioners (NIEP), Osun State Chapter in Osogbo on Sunday.
Oyintiloye, who represented Governor Oyetola at the forum, organised by the State Civic Engagement Office, decried the opposition parties’ campaign of calumny against the government, saying such evil machinations would not stop the incumbent from being re-elected come July 16, 2022.
He expressed confidence that the APC’s impressive victory in the Ekiti gubernatorial poll would be replicated during Osun election given the people appreciation of work done by the current administration.
According to him; “For us, defeat is not an option in the coming election. The victory that will be recorded in the election through the popular votes of the electorate for Oyetola and APC.
“It will surpass that of Ekiti state. We are prepared for the election and it will not be out of place to extend hands of fellowship to everyone to join us in moving the state forward.
“I want to emphasise that failure is not an option. Victory is certain by the grace of God.”
However, the Special Adviser urged the electorate to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and support Oyetola’s re-election in the spirit of continuity.
In his remarks, the Chairman of NIEP, Mr Olusegun Atoyebi, who commended Oyetola on various developmental projects initiated across the state in the last four years, promised that the Association members would vote right and wisely during the election.
