The crucial meeting which held behind closed doors had most of the ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet in attendance.

At the end of the emergency crucial meeting, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr Mohammed Idris re-echoed the appeal by President Boal Ahmed Tinubu, by further appealing to Nigerians to reconsider their stand on the protest and give the government more time to address the economic challenges confronting the country.
The Federal Government assured the youth that the government has been engaging all concerned parties to resolve the issues in the nation’s interest, stressing that there was no need for the planned ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest scheduled for next month.
The protest, according to the organisers who are still not visible, is aimed at addressing excruciating economic hardship and hunger and would be held across the states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, in August.
Nigerians have been grappling with one of the country’s worst periods of inflation and economic crisis which were as a result of Federal Government’s policies, particularly the removal of petrol subsidies and floating of the Naira which created quadruple and spiral inflation of prices of food and basic commodities in the country.
