Pastor Bakare To President Buhari: Nigerians Are Disappointed In You
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has declared that there is a general feeling of disappointment among Nigerians who expected change from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Pastor Bakare, who was the running mate to Major General Muhammadu Buhari who was the presidential flag bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011, noted that the expectations of Nigerians have not been met by the current administration.
Bakare pointedly said that President Buhari has disappointed Nigerians with his handling of the nation’s affairs.
He particularly regretted what he described as “the lack of leadership,” particularly with the rising cases of kidnappings and killings, thereby making non-state actors to take laws into their hands.
Bakare, who stated these during a virtual interview with Dele Momodu further said; “The truth of the matter is, it is still the same Buhari. In the midst of many competing interests, we respond differently. The President is still himself, some have even asked me if he is not somebody else?
“Power changes people. Has power changed him or is he making the best situation of the circumstances? He will be the one to answer it
“The expectations of Nigerians, including everyone who woke up to say we need a breath of fresh air, has not been met. There is a feeling of disappointment.
“People deserve the government they get and the government deserves the kind of people that support them or say no, we can’t take this anymore.”
Pastor Bakare however said that Nigerians are praying hard that the county will survive and become strong again, stressing that this is not what we all call the Nigeria of our dreams
