PDP, APC Sheathe Sword Over Osinbajo’s Accident
BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) temporarily put aside their power contestation and political tirades to express shock over the Saturday’s crash of the helicopter carrying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in Kabba, Kogi state.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, said the party appreciates “God for the safety of Vice President Osinbajo, members of his entourage and the crew.”
Similarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) thanked God for the safety of Vice President Osinbajo and all the crew members.
In a statement released in Abuja, the PDP demanded a thorough investigation into the traumatic incident.
It said the safety of the country’s leaders, and of course, all Nigerians, must be guaranteed, especially at this critical time.
The Party urged all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and political affiliation, to continue to pray for God’s continued intervention in our national life.
On its part, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in expressing thanks to God, prayed for continuous safety of its leaders as well as the progress of the nation and its people.

According to reports by his aides, Professor Osinbajo proceeded with his scheduled programme of engaging the people on the Next Level plan of the Buhari administration in the state ahead of the February 16 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
