NEF, Afenifere, Ohanese, Middle Belt Elders, Others Throw Weight Behind Atiku For President
…Say President Buhari is non-fit
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Leaders and elders of different organisations from the six geo-political zones of the country on Sunday declared that President Muhammadu Buhari is a non-fit President that must not be voted for again if the country is to move ahead and unite in line with the dreams of its founding fathers.
The groups made of Northern E;ders Forum (NEF), Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Afenifere, Ohanese and Middle Belt elders among others, therefore endorsed the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for th February 16, 2019 presidential election.
The groups noted that President Buhari has woefully failed the nation and does not and should not in any deserve a second term in office
The elders, who spoke in turn at a summit of Nigerian leaders and elders in Abuja on Sunday, opined that President Buhari has demonstrated lack of mental capacity to continue to rule a nation as complex as Nigeria adding that the era of having a president that is not in charge of his administration must not be tolerated.
The leaders stressed that Nigeria is not only in serious crises of insecurity, dwindling economy, nepotism, killings, corruption but now witnessing a major constitutional crisis under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
One of the leaders, who was former minister of Information, Chief Edwin Clark capped the aggregate decision of the elders when he said; “I join the Ohaneze, the Afenifere, the Northern Elders Forum and onbehalf of the Niger Delta people, Atiku is our presidential candidate for a better and prosperous Nigeria. We must do away with the deceit of the President Buhari’s government.”
A communique of the Summit is expected to be issued at the end of the deliberations of the elders.
