- Insists he signed Convention letters
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed allegations of signature forgery raised by its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
In refuting the forgery claims, the party insisted that Anyanwu personally signed the letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the party’s forthcoming November national convention holding next month in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, who stated these while addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, October 20, 2025, maintained that Anyanwu cannot deny signing several official letters, including the one notifying INEC of the date, time, and venue for the November 15 and 16 elective convention in Ibadan
According to Ologunagba, the letters were signed just hours before the 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on August 25, 2025
The PDP Spokesman also presented to reporters communications between Anyanwu and other members of the party’s leadership, as well as his engagement with members of the contact and mobilisation committee, where he served as the Secretary.
Senator Anyanwu had submitted a petition to the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Inspector General of Police, alleging that his signature was forged in the letters sent to INEC informing the Electoral umpire of PDP’s planned convention.
