BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Taking a critical study of the degeneration of the animosity between Governors Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State and Nyesome Wike of Rivers whose tone of disagreements have become skin deep, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday stepped forward to reconcile the two party leaders.
The PDP noted that the crisis between the two governors was as a result of recent disputes between their two states.
The Party in a statement said that the national leadership, having noted the issues, has activated its internal reconciliation mechanism to settle the matter amicably.
The statement which was signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan explained that it recognized that the tone of disagreements between the two governors were skin-deep and only borne out of their love and zeal for their respective states..
The PDP leadership therefore urged both Governors Wike and Dickson, as eminent leaders and frontline stakeholders in the party, to sheathe their swords while the leadership harmoniously resolves the issue.
Ologbondiyan said; “We therefore assure all our leaders, critical stakeholders, members and supporters of our great party, particularly in Rivers and Bayelsa states, to remain calm and united, as the issue is already being resolved.”
The PDP restated that it remains one big indivisible family and will not allow anything to undermine its unity and focus especially at this trying time in the history of the nation.
