The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at its 610th meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, approved the appointment of Hon. Francis Orogu as the Acting National Vice Chairman for the North Central zone.
This followed the expulsion of Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, who was National Vice Chairman (North Central), by the 2025 National Elective Convention of the Party
This was contained in a statement issued by Comrade Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP in which he stated that the appointment was part of decisions reached at the 610th meeting of the National Working Committee.
Ememobong explained that the decision was pursuant to the provision of Article 29(2)(b) of the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (as amended).
The statement said that until his appointment as Acting National Vice Chairman, Hon. Orogu was the Secretary of the North Central Zonal Executive Committee of our Party.
He is to act as the National Vice Chairman (North Central) pending the election of a substantive Chairman for the Zone.
The PDP urged all Party members, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, the media and the public to take note accordingly.
The NWC also urged all PDP members, especially in the North Central to remain united and continue to work with Hon. Orogu and other leaders for the progress and success of the party.
