PDP Women Tackle Secondus Over Court Case

Moves by embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus to quash his current suspension by the Rivers State High Court ran into murky waters on Wednesday.

The latest battle is coming from his homestead where the PDP’s Women Caucus in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State are angry and disappointed with the desperation shown at upturning the court injunction barring him from the Party’s National chairmanship position.

According to the women, the unfolding events are quite appalling against the backdrop of alleged moves by Secondus to procure a court order challenging his suspension from Nasarawa State judiciary.

A statement by the Caucus President, Ms Doris Owaji and Secretary, Mrs Beauty Samuel said; “In as much as we recognise the constitutional right of Mr. Secondus to seek legal redress, we consider it, however, curious that he opted to file a suit to challenge his suspension from the PDP in Nasarawa State, governed by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“We had expected Secondus, who had been suspended in his Ward in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, for an anti-party activity to defend himself in the suit filed against him here in Rivers State.

“We have no doubt in mind that Mr. Secondus’ decision to file a suit in Nasarawa State proves that he must have entered into a conspiracy with the APC to thwart PDP’s quest to win the 2023 general elections.”

Accusing the suspended Chairman of seeking to destroy the party for selfish reasons, the women further said; “We find it absurd that Mr. Secondus, who has been a major beneficiary of the PDP, could desire to destroy the same party that brought him to limelight if he fails to achieve his inordinate ambition to perpetuate himself in office as National Chairman.”

Meanwhile, Media Adviser to the Court suspended PDP Chairman, Ike Abonyi, said it is laughable that all sorts of insinuations are currently making the rounds in the media, adding; “This is another of their voyage. Discerning minds know who is destroying the party. People who went to court are now afraid of court. Interesting!

“They have now divided Nigerian courts into APC and PDP”, Abonyi noted while responding to inquiries on the allegation that his principal, Prince Uche Secondus, has been desperate shopping for a court ruling to perpetuate himself in office.
