BY SYLVESTER ALIJO, ABUJA – The Nigerian Military Pensions Board (MPB), on Saturday said that it has fulfilled the payment of 33 per cent pension arrears in the 3rd quarter of the year.
The Public Relations Officer of the Board, Squadron Leader Ikenna Ezendu, who announced this, explained that the development is part of the Federal government’s effort to fulfill its agreement with military pensioners in 2014.
Ezendu said that it was agreed that 33 per cent pension arrears owed to military pensioners will be paid on quarterly basis for three years.
He further said; “This is to inform our esteem pensioners that Military Pensions Board has paid third quarter 33 per cent pension arrears.”
The spokesman of the MPB further said the payment, which commenced in 2014 on quarterly basis, will be completed by fourth quarter of 2017.
