PEPT: We Know What The Outcome Of Supreme Court Will Be – Adegboruwa
One of Nigeria’s legal luminaries, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwaa, SAN, has said that the law is a prophecy of what the court says it is.
Adegboruwa, who stated this when he featured on Channels Television, said he and other legal professionals, already know what the decision of the Supreme Court will be over the appeals filed by petitioners over the outcome of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Adegboruwa noted that while the petitioners have resolved to proceed to the Supreme Court, adding however, that some members of the bar already know what the decision of the apex court would be.
According to him; “It is common knowledge that appeals have been filed at the Supreme Court challenging the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT). I think for us, maybe that is why members of the public seem to be blaming the lawyers, for us in the legal profession, we desire that we should have a process that is so transparent that there will be less litigation.
“The fact that there are so many litigations post-2023 election, shows that there are problems everywhere. I don’t want to predict their lordships in the Supreme Court but, those of us in the legal profession can tell you we already know what the outcome of that exercise will be.
“However, it is good to give people the opportunity to ventilate their interests,” he said.
