Plateau Catholic Community Agog With Lalong, ITF Boss Knighthood Investiture

BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – The Plateau Catholic community is agog in celebration mood as all is now set for the investiture ceremony of Papal Knights recently elevated by by His Holiness, Pope Francis.

The event, which holds at the Cathedral of Divine Mercy, Laminga, Jos, tomorrow, Saturday, January 25, will be officiated by the immediate past Arch Bishop of Jos and now Arch Bishop of Abuja Diocese, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama.

Information from the Jos Arch-Diocese Secretariat indicates that highlights of the event will be the conferment of Papal Knights status on some devout Catholics in recognition of their commitment and outstanding contributions to the growth and advancement of the Catholic Church and doctrine over the years.

According to a statement heralding the event, while Governor Simon Bako Lalong and few other personalities, including Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Professor Danladi Atu will be elevated as Knights of St Gregory the Great (KGG), the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph Ari, among others will be honoured with the rarer status of the Knight of St Sylvester.

In another development, the ITF Director General, Sir Joseph Ari on Friday spoke on the outlook of the Fund’s operational outlay of the Fund for the fiscal year 2020.

He told a media conference that ITF will not relent in implementing activities and programmes aimed deepening its interface with the industrial public.

Sir Ari maintained that no efforts will be spared as the ITF seeks to remain a critical driver and chassis of the President Muhammadu Buhari national economic renaissance programme in the country.
