Police Arrest APC Deputy Chairman In Edo
Less than 48 hours before the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) election, the Police have reportedly arrested the State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe.
Tenebe was said to have been arrested in his Ikabigbo hometown, Etsako West local government area allegedly on the orders of the Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Philip Shaibu, for some undisclosed reasons
Reports indicated that the APC’s Vice Chairman, a popular mobilizer for the APC and a strong loyalist of the former Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, had in a recent video that went viral, accused the Deputy Governor of sundry issues.
The APC, had in an earlier press conference in Benin City, the Edo state capital, alleged that the Godwin Obaseki-led State government was planning to rig Saturday’s election, using thugs in various disguises.
The State Party Chairman, Col David Imuse (rtd), and the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Ofure Osehobo, both confirmed the arrest
However, as of the time of filling this report, the Police were yet to respond to enquiries with the Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor not picking up his calls or responding to text messages.
