BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – The Police has arrested a rapist, one Ali Lawan, who allegedly raped his three years old daughter in his house in Bauchi State.
The arrest of Lawan followed a report lodged at the Kirfi Divisional Police headquarters by his wife, one Maryam Abdullahi (aged 24years) of Anguwar Doya, Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State in which she alleged that her husband, Ali Lawan asked her to bring him a mat to lay down her daughter aged 3years to sleep.
Maryam said that she later came back to the room and found her little daughter laying down unconscious, sweating and vomiting through her mouth and nose while her private part became swollen.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Wakili said that on receipt of the report, a team of detectives were drafted to the scene after which the poor little victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Kirfi for immediate medical attention while doctors certified her to have been raped.
The Police spokesman further said that the suspect -Lawn, who is the innocent victim’s father was later arrested adding that investigation is ongoing and would be charged to court at the end of investigation.
