Hundeyin assured the public that the matter was not being swept under the carpet, adding that Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Adegoke Fayoade, had ordered the Gender Unit of the command to immediately swing into action and investigate the case.

In the words of Hundeyin; “The case is under full investigation. There is no plan to cover up the allegation”.

It was gathered that a 17-year-old girl (name withheld) had reported a case of rape against one of the senior police officers attached to Area H Command Ogudu in the Ojota area of Lagos State to her parents.

This was as it was further gathered that the teenage girl became a victim of alleged violent sexual assault while trying to recover her stolen phone by some criminals.

However, the police officer, who got wind of the stolen phone, was alleged to have offered to help track the girl’s missing phone after taking her statement but, later allegedly tricked the teenager with false information that police operatives had arrested the suspected thief.

According to a family source; “The police officer lured the girl with the false information and when she arrived his office, he allegedly raped her under gunpoint”.
