Police Nab Man For Defiling 13-Year-Old Girl In Lagos

For allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter, a 35-year-old man, Godwin Femi has been arrested by the Police Command in Lagos State.

The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest on Saturday in Lagos, said the incident occurred at Adeba in the Ibeju Lekki area of the state, where both the victim and suspect reside.

According to Hundeyin; “The case was reported by Samuel on behalf of his daughter against the suspect. The complainant alleged that the suspect has been having forceful carnal knowledge of the survivor since June.

“The survivor’s father stated that on June 30, his daughter withdrew the sum of N20,000 from his account with his ATM card without his consent.

“And that it was when a missing phone was traced to her, she confessed that it was the suspect who gave it to her.

“She gave the N20,000 to the suspect when he threatened to kill her if she tell anyone that he defiled her”.

Hundeyin further said the suspect confessed to the crime, claiming that the victim was his girlfriend.

The Police PRO said the case has been transferred from Elemoro Police Division to Gender unit of the Lagos State Police Command Ikeja, adding that the suspect was arraigned in court on Friday on a one count charge of child defilement.
